New Camera!

I had been on the look out for a digital camera for over a month now. I was looking for a point and shoot camera, with good zoom capabilities. After reading a few reviews, I had brought my choice down to Canon Powershot S2 IS and Panasonic Lumix FZ5. Finally, after reading and re-reading lots of reviews mainly from dpreview, megapixel, pcmag and imaging resource, I bought the Panasonic Lumix FZ5 from J.J. Mehta and sons. Some of the points that made me choose Panasonic over Canon were that it was less bulky, lighter, less expensive and the images produced by Panasonic were on par or better than Canons; though Canon has a better movie mode with stereo sound and it has more features too. Few people who owned both of these cameras were in favour of Panasonic too.

I have been playing around with it all evening and hope to post some good photos on the blog soon.

Alonso joining McLaren in 2007!

After a fantastic F1 season this year ending with Alonso winning the drivers championship and Renualt winning the constructors championship, I never expected that Alonso would switch to any other team in the near future. This news of Alonso switching to McLaren should have shocked most of the F1 followers. I am just wondering if Alonso is confirmed for the 2007 drive for McLaren, who among Kimi and Montoya is out? And now that Schumi seems to be nearing his retirement, I bet Ferrari too is hunting for a replacement for Schumi. So is it Alonso and Kimi for McLaren in 2007 (what a killer combination this would be!) or is it Alonso and Montoya for McLaren and Kimi for the prancing horse? Guess we need to wait for answers..

Shivanasamudram Trip

AllGo had arranged a trip to Shivanasamudram on 27th November. Finally, after two weeks I am uploading some of the photos

We left from our office at Indiranagar around 8:30 a.m. to reach Kadumane, a restaurant on Mysore Road for breakfast around 10:30 a.m. After a quick breakfast, we left for the Bharachukki falls, one of the twin falls at Shivanasamudram. Most of the travel time was spent playing antakshari and dumb charades. We reached Bharachukki at 1:00 in the afternoon. Thanks to some good rains this year, the waterfalls was at its best. We then proceeded towards the bottom of the falls and spent over an hour playing under the waterfalls. Then returning to the bus, we had our lunch, had a glance of the Gaganachukki waterfalls and started our journey back reaching Bangalore at around 8:00 pm.
